The Minoan villa or the mansion of Vathypetro, was excavated by Sp. Marinatos. It is situated at Piso Livadia, 4 km south of Archanes. It is about an installation of some toparch and has all the features of a “little palace”, with a central and west court, a small tripartite shrine, a three column colonnade, a hall with pillars and storage. It seemed that the building never finished. The apartments of the upper floor were used as a residence and from that point perhaps some objects were fallen, which they were considered to be in their initial position, such as an earring and a figurine. Also of interest is the installation of a vine-press at the south wing (roofed today), as well as an olive-press was found at the court.
